another one bites the dust

Was quite disheartened when I read this. He stayed kicking and fighting for a while, until apparently it became too much. One can’t even blame him for not continuing to work under those conditions. One wonders, though, how things like this happen under everyone’s noses and nothing’s being done about it.

There are good people in government, I know there are. It’s just that today, there’s one less.

It’s frustrating when our government fails us. Take hope and heart, though. Surround yourself with good, godly people who can help you through this troubled world.

    Blessings,

This only tells me that there still those people who fight the good fight rather than be eaten by an immoral status quo. There is still hope for this country, hope for the turn of the tide–no matter how bleak it seems.

You guys think I’m joking, but I seriously think KuyaD should get into politics. I know he doesn’t have a politician’s last name, I know he’s not connected to the upper echelon via a basketball player for a dad (although I’ve never seen Tito Pitoy play), I know he didn’t major in political science at UP. But with enough networking, couldn’t he start local? Start as a Barangay Captain? Move up to Town Mayor? Then on to the senate? He has the passion, the wisdom (age), and the beard for it.

How about you, Rina? Any interest in running for some sort of political office? I once believed in the power of individual voters, but it’s clear–dito sa US at sa Pilipinas–that corruption scandals keep a tight grip on how much of an effect we will have.
